Terri Holley, CEO and principal of Creative Blog Solutions

How does a woman who walked away from a day job become a leading authority in social media? With a few detours and a lot of tenacity.

It began almost four years ago.  Terri fell in love with the coaching methodology and left her day job to build her own business. Like any savvy entrepreneur, Terri knew she had to establish a presence on the web.  In six weeks, she had a beautiful site courtesy of a hired webmaster.  Trouble was no one came to visit—except for Terri. What she needed was a little search engine optimization (SEO), but with little knowledge and no cash, Terri had to get creative. Intrigued by a book called Blog Wild, she took her first steps in the world of blogging.  For a fraction of the cost, Terri set up a blog at Typepad and started cranking out some content. Lo and behold, the traffic started flowing – but not to her site.  Terri’s blog got all the attention.  She was onto something.  Since then, nothing has been the same.

Week by week, tool by tool, Terri became a proficient user of several social tools and Creative Blog Solutions was born. Not only is  Terri is the CEO of a small social media agency, she is a contributor to Women Grow Business,  recently recognized by Forbes magazine as one the best marketing and social media blogs written by women.  She is also the host of the Social Media Voices Project, a podcast that spotlights the strategies and leadership techniques of nationally recognized authors, speakers, social media strategists, and interactive marketers.

The secret to Terri’s success? The drive to create her own game.  With a little skill, an adventurous spirit, and the willingness to experiment, she was successful at navigating the social web. The benefits have been priceless.

Terri’s clients will tell you that she talks the talk and walks the walk.  She continues to grow Creative Blog Solutions with the same strategies she uses to help other businesses.  Just like every other hard working business owner, she has her sleeved rolled, she is in trenches and she is passionate about helping other small business owners succeed.
